NEWBURGH – City Manager Michael Ciaravino named Kathryn Mack as
Newburgh city comptroller and director of finance on Friday. She has been
serving as acting comptroller for the last several months.
Ciaravino said over the past six years, she has been “integral in stabilizing the financial condition of the city.”
Mack joined the finance office as a junior accountant where she is credited with revitalizing the financial billing and receipt of funding for the city’s PILOT program and worked to create reconciliation processes for all city finances.
In 2014, Mack was promoted to accountant where she led all private and public audits, initiated new financial processes to ensure the recapture of grant related expenditures, and built the new five-year capital plan for Newburgh.
“Our office is eager to begin the next level of oversight in an effort to continue making progress toward the collective goals that are in the best interest of the city,” Mack said.
