TOWN OF WALLKILL – Police are scouring the Wallkill/Middletown
area for a suspect in the Tuesday mid-morning robbery of the Chase Bank
branch on Route 211 in the Orange Plaza parking lot.
Police said a man walked into the bank and handed a teller a note that he had a gun and demanded money.   He fled on foot with an undetermined amount of cash.
Police are looking to see if this same suspect was involved in other recent robberies.
The man was white, in his 20s, about 180 pounds, wearing a black baseball cap, black long sleeve shirt, khaki pants, black sneakers and sunglasses.
Wallkill Police Chief Robert Hertman said they are working with State
Police, FBI and Middletown City Police to determine if this robbery is
linked to other bank robberies that have occurred in the area recently.

Last week, in the Town of Wawayanda on the other side of Middletown, a man walked into a bank and demanded money. He is still at large.
