Brewster man arrested after knife assault

BREWSTER – a Brewster is charged with felony assault after he allegedly cut another man with a knife.
On July 29, a man showed up at the Brewster firehouse seeking medical assistance as he had been cut with a knife by a male acquaintance. An investigation revealed that John Schoenfelder, Jr., 25, of Brewster, allegedly cut the victim on the neck with a knife.
The victim was treated for a laceration that was deemed to be non-life threatening.
Schoenfelder was located nearby by police and arrested.  He is in the Putnam County Jail in lieu of $5,000 cash bail.
