Saugerties woman arrested after receiving five-pound package of pot

SAUGERTIES – A Saugerties woman is being held in the Ulster County Jail following her arrest on a charge of felony criminal possession of marijuana.
Jane Rosier, 56, was arrested after a private parcel carrier company contacted the URGENT Task Force suspecting they had a package suspected of containing contraband. A positive indication was given by a Town of Plattekill Police K-9, after which the package was examined by the parcel company and found to contain roughly five pounds of marijuana.
URGENT members later delivered the package to the address in Saugerties and shortly after, they executed a search warrant at 17 Barclay Street where they found the package.
Rosier was arrested and sent to jail without bail.  She is currently on probation supervision stemming from a conviction earlier this year for criminal possession of a controlled substance in May 2015.
