ELLENVILLE – A 27-year-old Ellenville woman was charged with killing
her mother on Saturday morning.
The victim, identified as Mari Gilbert, 52, of Ellenville, was found dead
at 9 Warren Street, apartment 2, in Ellenville about 2:15 p.m.
A short time later, Ellenville Police located and arrested her daughter,
Sarra Elizabeth Gilbert, of that address, and charged her with murder
and criminal possession of a weapon.
She was arraigned and remanded to the Ulster County Jail without bail.
Ellenville Police were assisted by the Forensic Investigation Unit of
the State Police, Uniform and Detectives, and URGENT members.
The investigation is continuing.
