Kingston man in critical condition after being stabbed

KINGSTON – A Kingston man is in Vassar Brothers Medical Center in Poughkeepsie after he was stabbed by another man on a city street at about 6 Monday morning.
Kingston Police were called to a report of a dispute involving a knife
in the area of Broadway and Elmendorf Street. They found the victim, a
44-year-old man, with stab wounds to his chest. He underwent surgery Monday
and as of late in the day, was listed in critical condition.
An investigation led to the arrest of Gilbert Thomas, 19, of Elmendorf Street of Kingston on charges of felony assault and criminal possession of a weapon.
During the investigation, Marvin Parada, 29, of Kingston, was arrested on a charge of criminal impersonation. He gave police another person’s name to avoid being arrested on an outstanding felony warrant for forgery and an outstanding violation of probation warrant.
