Everyone wants to adopt Izzie now that
she has been found

TOWN OF WALLKILL – “Izzie,” the female puppy that disappeared
along with two kittens when the Middletown Humane Society was burglarized
on June 8, has been found safe and sound. “She looks a little thinner,
but other than that, she looks okay,” said Humane Society President
Marlene Freehill.

The two kittens were recovered almost immediately after the break-in at
the 142 Bloomingburg Road facility.

On this Monday morning, Police Chief Robert Hertman said officers responded
to The Horizons at Wawayanda apartment complex at 3476 Route 6 in Middletown
in response to a report that the dog was seen in that area.

Izzie was found in possession of a resident in the complex, who found
her wandering in the street. She was turned over the Humane Society later
in the day. “Of course, everyone wants to adopt her now,”
said Freehill.

The investigation into the burglary is continuing.
