BEACON – The City of Beacon
will provide upfront funding of $104,000 to start an after-school recreation
program for school kids.
The program, in conjunction with the school district, will begin in September.
“We believe it will all be put back in because there will be a cost to go to the after-school program,” said Mayor Randy Casale.  “It will pay for itself, but to start it you some cash flow.”
The program will be operated by the city’s recreation department.
