District Attorney David Hoovler said the arrests were made by the Orange County Drug Task Force, comprised of officers from a number of police agencies.
“The undercovers purchased heroin, cocaine, prescription medication and marijuana and this is part of our ongoing effort and ongoing tragedy where we are branching out from the cities and now we are tackling the problems more in our towns and villages as you can see from these arrests,” the DA said.
Hoovler said his office is focusing on education, treatment and prevention. He said enforcement is a last resort and is often times as a result of citizen complaints.  He said they have been receiving record numbers of those leads from residents who observe suspicious behavior.
