SAUGERTIES – The Saugerties man accused of killing Rameen Perry, 40, last week was arraigned Tuesday evening in Saugerties court and sent to the Ulster County Jail without bail.
Earl Edwards, 26, stands accused of stabbing the Port Ewen man several times early in the morning last Thursday, May 26.  The stabbing reportedly was prompted by a dispute over a woman.
Edwards fled before the police arrived. The investigation revealed he was traveling south on an Amtrak train.  By 2:30 in the afternoon, he was in the custody of railroad police, who arrested him when the train rolled into Washington, DC.
At Tuesday’s local arraignment, Edwards’ attorney entered a “not guilty” plea on the second degree murder charge.
