KINGSTON – As Mayor Steven
Noble completes almost the first six months of his new Kingston administration,
he is looking ahead to 2017.
Like all other municipalities in the Mid-Hudson, keeping within their financial constraints is Noble’s primary goal.
“So far we feel we are on budget and for the next few years we have steep hills to climb; we have a lot of outstanding debt,” the mayor said. “We also have a lot of labor contracts that are expiring so there are some relatively big hurdles for us in the near future, but we think that with some proactive planning and with some reasonable professional decisions along the way, we are going to make sure we are going to make sure we can weather these storms as they come along.”
Noble said some financial issues are anticipated but others are not.
