SLOATSBURG – A Newark, New Jersey man, who allegedly abducted a woman against her will in that city, was arrested while driving on the New York State Thruway in Sloatsburg.
Rasheed McKenith, 39, allegedly took the woman on April 30 and while driving through Sloatsburg on the Thruway, she was able to escape unharmed and seek help from passing motorists.
McKenith fled the area, but information obtained from witnesses at the scene and New Jersey police led to his arrest. He is in the Rockland County Jail in lieu of $25,000 cash bail.
