CATSKILL – An 18-year-old prisoner at the state’s Greene Correctional
Facility has been charged with possessing dangerous prison contraband
consisting of a razor blade-style cutting weapon.
Devaughn Binda was arrested following an incident that occurred at the
prison on February 12.
Binda’s case was brought to the Greene County grand jury, which
resulted in a sealed indictment.
He was later arrested, arraigned and remanded back to the state prison
pending further court proceedings.
State Police were assisted in the investigation by the State Department
of Corrections and Community Supervision, the State Inspector General’s
Office and the Greene County District Attorney’s Office.
