Two escape injury when train hit car in Hyde Park

HYDE PARK – Two people in a car that got stuck on railroad tracks
near River Point Road in Hyde Park Friday morning escaped injury when they
were able to get out before the vehicle was struck by an oncoming Amtrak
train.

Fairview Fire District personnel responded to the 9:39 a.m. incident . None
of the 178 passengers and four crew members aboard the train was injured.

Fairview and Mobile Life Support Service were on the scene until 10:11 a.m.
with the State Police, Hyde Park Police and MTA Police handing the investigation.
