Cable TV sub-contractor charged with stealing checks while making service calls

PORT JERVIS – A Middletown man, who was a cable TV sub-contractor has been arrested and charged with stealing checks from a number of victims while conducting service calls.
Port Jervis City Police said Rahmeek Pacheco, 22, was charged with two counts each of forgery and criminal possession of a forged instrument, and petit larceny.  He was sent to the Orange County Jail in lieu of $15,000 cash bail or $45,000 bond.
The arrest stemmed from a three-month investigation into reported fraud cases in Orange and Sullivan counties and was investigated by Port Jervis and State Police along with the Orange County District Attorney’s Office.
