CIRCLEVILLE – A fire in the boiler room of the Circleville Middle School Monday resulted in the evacuation of the remaining students and staff who were in the building after regular school hours at around 4 p.m. Students from the Pakansink Elementary School were also evacuated. The fire was extinguished by the Circleville Fire Department.
There were no reports of injuries.
Air quality staff from Orange-Ulster BOCES was called in to test the air quality and cause of the fire.
The area was cleaned Monday evening and schools were scheduled to open as usual today (Tuesday).
The schools are within the Pine Bush Central School District.
