MONTEBELLO – An 83-year-old woman was killed as she was attempting to cross Route 202 in the Village of Montebello after checking her mail about 3 p.m. Monday.
Ramapo Town Police said the woman, whose name they did not release, was struck by a westbound car. She was transported to Westchester Medical Center where she later died.
The driver, a 21-year-old Monroe woman, remained at the scene.
The accident is under investigation by the Ramapo Police Accident Investigation Unit.
