GOSHEN – Whether Legoland decides to build a theme park in Orange County appears to be coming down to site selection, County Executive Stephen Neuhaus said on Wednesday.
He told Mid-Hudson News that the company is now at the point of talking price to buy a site.
“They have selected a few locations that they have expressed interest in and if they can make a marriage with those property owners, they will move forward and you will have a big announcement in the next month or so. If they don’t make those arrangements work, then they are not coming to Orange County,” Neuhaus said. “They are literally at that final cross in the road.”
Orange County came on the radar for the developer when the Town of Haverstraw, which was their first choice, turned down the offer for Legoland to build there.
