GOSHEN – Orange County Executive Steven Neuhaus named a new commissioner of finance. Prior to taking her new job, Karin Hablow was the county’s deputy commissioner of health, responsible for oversight of all fiscal administration, including that department’s annual budget.
Neuhaus said she is “extremely capable to take on this new challenge and will continue to improve the financial operations” of the county.
The county legislature must confirm her appointment. Legislature Chairman Stephen Brescia said Hablow is “the right person at the right time” for the finance commissioner post. He said she brings “a lot of experience and ideas to the table.”
Prior to joining county government, she spent 14 years in the private sector as a financial analyst, private equity investor, and fiscal project manager.
