WHITE PLAINS – A 21-year-old Port Chester man pled guilty Wednesday
in Westchester County Court to manslaughter in the stabbing death of another
man in his Port Chester apartment back on Sunday, September 11, 2011.
Jahkim McGhee, 21, lived across the street from the victim, Anthony Guglielmo,
and his daughter, Nicole Guglielmo, who was 14 at the time.
Right after the murder, at around 5:30 a.m., Port Chester Police received
a 911 call of a burglary in progress and that a person had been stabbed.
The call had been made by the victim’s daughter.
Police responded and found the victim lying on the living room floor in
a pool of blood. A large butcher knife was on the floor and the victim
had been stabbed in the chest.
Acting District Attorney James McCarty said the initial speculation focused
on the victim’s daughter, but over the next two years, it was determined
that McGhee was involved. He admitted to climbing in the window of the
victim’s home and stabbing him while he slept.
During his plea, McGhee admitted to acting alone in the homicide and was
promised that he would receive a 20-year prison sentence on September
6.
