RENO, NEVADA – Dr. Karin Hilgersom, who just days ago resigned as president of SUNY Sullivan, is headed for a new job as president of Truckee Meadows Community College in Reno.
The college’s presidential search committee and the Advisory Committee, nominated her on Friday as the sole finalist to serve as the next president.
Truckee Meadows’ Board of Regents will vote on the recommendation and contract terms during is May 2 special meeting.
Hilgersom was one of four finalist candidates at Truckee Meadows. She
was among the finalist candidates for president of four community colleges
to which she had applied. The other three chose a different route.
Truckee Regent Kevin Melcher, who chaired the TMCC President Search Committee, said they felt Hilgersom’s “leadership and in-depth knowledge of community college issues were an outstanding match to build on the college’s existing successes.”
