MONTICELLO –  A Fallsburg man was sentenced to three years in state prison and 15 years of post-release supervision following his guilty plea to the felonies of failing to register his Facebook account and disseminating indecent material to a minor.
Robert Dunn, Sr., 42, is a level two sex offender. He had faced a maximum of four years in jail.
Dunn was arrested last May when he went to a residence on Emily Street in Monticello to meet a 15-year-old boy that he had solicited for sex on Facebook. What Dunn did not know at the time was that the 15-year-old with whom he was communicating on the Internet was actually an undercover deputy sheriff.
Sheriff Michael Schiff praised Sgt. Blake Starter, the lead investigator in the case for getting this sex offender off the street. The sheriff also thanked District Attorney James Farrell “for his vigorous prosecution which resulted in an appropriate state prison sentence.”
