Monroe man arrested for drug possession, DWAI

MONROE – A traffic stop on Lakes Road in the Town of Monroe late Friday night resulted in the arrest of the driver on drug charges.
State Police found that Bartholomew Atkinson, 28, of Monroe had in his
possession more than one ounce of concentrated cannabis after he was arrested
for driving while ability impaired by drugs.  He was also found to
possess several suboxone tablets, several prescriptions outside their
original container and more than four ounces of marijuana.
Atkinson was charged with criminal possession of drugs, criminal possession of marijuana and several vehicle and traffic related offenses.  He is in the Orange County Jail in lieu of $15,000 cash bail and $30,000 bond.
