KINGSTON- A Kingston man has entered a guilty plea to felony assault in the first degree following a shooting in Port Ewen.

Corey Marshall, 34, admitted to driving to a Port Ewen home with a loaded handgun on October 6, 2022. Marshall says he fired at the house, hitting a resident in the hip, and then fled.  Following an investigation, the Ulster County Sheriff’s Office arrested Marshall.

Approximately a year after the shooting, an Ulster County grand jury indicated Marshall for attempted murder in the second degree, assault in the first degree, and two counts of criminal possession of a weapon in the second degree.  Two of the three charges were ultimately dropped by the district attorney’s office.

Marshall is scheduled for sentencing in front of Judge Bryan Rounds in county court on August 22nd and is being held in Ulster County Jail without bail.
