One nabbed in Town of Poughkeepsie assault, robbery

NEW HAMBURG – A Town of Poughkeepsie man was arrested in connection with an assault and robbery of a man. The victim told Poughkeepsie Town Police he was physically assaulted and his money was stolen at 47 Main Street in New Hamburg just before 4:30 a.m. on March 24.
Nicholas Michael Colon, 19, of the same address, was identified as a suspect and brought to police headquarters where he made admissions of his involvement. He was charged with felony robbery and committed to the Dutchess County Jail in lieu of $20,000 cash bail or $40,000 bond.
The investigation is continuing and anyone with information is asked to call the Poughkeepsie Town Police Department’s Detective Division at 845-485-3670.
