Robber attacks store clerk with beer bottle

POUGHKEEPSIE – A City of Poughkeepsie man is under arrest, charged with felony armed robbery following an incident early Tuesday morning.
City Police said Brent Johnson, 46, went into the 7-11 Store at 266 Hooker Avenue took a beer bottle from the cooler and asked the store clerk about a job.
When the clerk turned his back, Johnson went behind the counter and began striking the worker over the head several times, knocking him to the floor. The employee was able to flee and the robbery made off with the cash register drawer containing several hundred dollars.
Following investigation, police arrested Johnson.
