WOODRIDGE – A Woodridge
man has been arrested on charges of assaulting his wife.

Village of Woodridge Police in conjunction with Middletown City Police
arrested James Esposito on a warrant.

It is alleged that he assaulted his wife by punching, pulling her hair,
shoving and pushing her. The victim grappled with Esposito breaking loose
of his grip and attempting to flee, but he grabbed her by the hair and
pulled her back into the residence and began to choke her. She was able
to break free and flee the home seeking help and call police. Esposito
took off before officers arrived.
When he was arrested, he was charged with strangulation and unlawful
imprisonment as felonies and misdemeanor assault.

Esposito was committed to the Sullivan County Jail in lieu of $3,500 bail
and a bench warrant was lodged against him regarding violation of an order
of protection issued by Woodridge Court in a separate incident.
