Driver had 17 license suspensions, Washingtonville Police charge

WASHINGTONVILLE – A Berne, New York had has been charged with driving
with a license that was suspended 17 times for outstanding tickets and
prior convictions for DWI.

Shawn Stuber, 34, was pulled over by Washingtonville Police on Thursday,
March 17, for a seatbelt violation. He gave officers a false name and
a Tennessee driver’s license. But, investigation found he also had
four active arrest warrants from upstate New York.

Stuber was charged with felony aggravated unlicensed operation, criminal
impersonation and misdemeanor criminal possession of a controlled substance.
He was also issued several traffic tickets.

Police also arrested his passenger, Makara Gibson, 24, of Harriman, Tennessee
for giving them a false name. She was charged with a misdemeanor of criminal
impersonation.

Stuber was committed to the Orange County Jail in lieu of $2,500 cash
bail and Gibson was remanded on $500 cash bail.
