POUGHKLEEPSIE – The Poughkeepsie Common Council will name the late Tracy Hermann’s husband, Matthew Hermann-McNamara, as his replacement as councilman for the 8th Ward.
Hermann died unexpectedly of a heart attack on March 3. Within days of his passing, city officials had mentioned that his husband would be the perfect choice to carry on his legacy.
McNamara will serve from Monday, March 21 when he is named, through the
end of the year. A special election will be held in November to elect
a replacement for the remainder of the term.
