Parolee flees from police in traffic stop

TOWN OF WALLKILL – A Newburgh man, who is on parole, was arrested
on Wednesday after he fled when an Orange County Sheriff’s deputy
attempted to stop him for traffic violations on Route 211 in the Town
of Wallkill.

Dylan Kratzert, 23, sped away, but lost control and struck a guardrail
on Stone Ridge Road. He then fled on foot into a wooded area, but was
apprehended.

He was charged with reckless driving, unlawful fleeing the police, obstruction
of governmental administration and resisting arrest along with 13 traffic
violations.

Kratzert was arraigned and committed to the Orange County Jail in lieu
of $5,000 bail.
