KINGSTON – A Kingston man has been committed to the Ulster County
Jail in lieu of $10,000 cash bail or $50,000 bond following a larceny
investigation.

In November 2015 and this past January, the Ulster County Sheriff’s
Office investigated larcenies at a camp in the Town of Kingston. Through
investigation, police said it was determined that Jason Barrett, 29, of
Kingston, stole tools and other items from the camp.

In January, Barrett cut several pieces of pipe from underneath a building,
and fled the scene after being seen carrying the stolen items on the property,
police said.

He was charged on March 9 with the felonies of grand larceny and criminal
mischief as well as misdemeanors of criminal trespass and petit larceny.
