NEW WINDSOR – Orange County Sheriff Carl DuBois endorsed Republican Colin Schmitt for the State Assembly’s 99th District.
Schmitt, of New Windsor, has yet to formally declare his candidacy, although he has been holding a series of sessions with residents in the district to discuss his views on the issues.
DuBois said he has known Schmitt and his family for many years. “When Colin ran the Senate Homeland Security Committee we worked together to ensure the safety and security of our state and region,” the sheriff said. “His service in the Army National Guard also sets him apart on leadership and energy to accomplish any task before him for our community.”
