Ulster County inmate charged with assaulting another prisoner

KINGSTON – A Kingston woman who is incarcerated at the Ulster County Jail is charged with felony assault following an altercation at the facility which left another female inmate unconscious with contusions to the head and facial areas.
Shana Shaw, 21, was charged following an investigation into the February 28 incident at the jail. The investigation is continuing and more changes are possible, authorities said.
Shaw remains incarcerated and will be brought to Kingston City Court to face the new charge at a later date.
