PORT JERVIS – The City of Port Jervis has a boil water alert in
effect because of the heavy rains that caused turbidity in the water on
Thursday night and Friday morning, Mayor Kelly Decker announced.
The water went right back to normal levels, but the state health department
mandates a process of testing over several hours and days to lift the
order.
The order could be in effect until Sunday or Monday depending on the testing
company availability.
Boiling water is for consumption only.
