POUGHKEEPSIE – Moody’s Investor Services’ bond rating for Poughkeepsie is at Baa3 and the agency is in the process of reviewing it.
The city has experienced difficult financial times in the last few years and Mayor Robert Rolison, who began his administration just a month ago, would like to hear good news.
“We are hoping for an upgrade,” Rolison said.  “We would also be also okay if they kept us where we were. We are just hoping at this point that the city doesn’t get downgraded.”
Before the city’s financial condition sank, its Moody’s bond rating in late 2010 was an A1. It gradually slipped since then, but Rolison is hoping to convince Moody’s to reassess that.
