CALLICOON – The Grover M. Hermann Hospital in Callicoon was shut down on Sunday following a pipe burst resulting in a heating system malfunction.  The broken hospital pipe created an emergency heating situation leading to the closing of the facility Sunday until remediation efforts could be completed.
Overnight temperatures over the weekend dropped well below zero with daytime readings in the single digits and teens.
As the temperatures dipped around the region, several warming centers were open during the weekend for individuals in need of someplace to stay in the extremely cold weather.
