Gross: “… financial and structural
challenges

BEACON – Citing “significant differences,” the executive director of environmental organization Hudson River Sloop Clearwater has resigned the post he held since May 2014.
Peter Gross pointed to “significant differences between his and the organization’s vision to the path to building a stronger future for Clearwater and dealing with the organization’s long-standing financial and structural challenges.”
Board President Anne Osborn said the group is “grateful to Peter for his non-profit and business experience and the dedication he brought to Clearwater at a very difficult time for the organization.”
The search for a new executive director has been put on hold as the organization cancelled its annual Great Hudson River Revival to focus on the restoration of the sloop Clearwater. That effort has received an “outpouring of generous donations that have come in” since the word went out seeking funds to restore and upgrade the sloop, said Ann Mellor, manager of membership.
