Protestors demonstrated outside the Wawayanda Town Hall

WAWAYANDA – Protestors of the CPV Valley Energy project in Slate Hill were arraigned in Wawayanda Town Court Thursday, pleading not guilty. Four entered their pleas while two others had pled earlier this month. The six include actor James Cromwell of Warwick.
The six are due back in town court in February as their attorney, Michael Sussman, sought to have Judge Timothy McElduff recuse himself, claiming the judge had a conflict of interest as he distributed campaign literature during his recent election supporting the power plant.
Opponents of the plant had staged a sit-in protest on December 18, locking their arms. They were subsequently arrested on charges of disorderly conduct and obstructing traffic.
