NEWBURGH – A Newburgh man was arrested Tuesday afternoon on a charge of grand larceny in connection with the theft of over $200,000 from his employer on Long Island.
Nassau County Police said James Miller, 69, of 115 Chambers Street in Newburgh was an employee of Nuzzolese Brothers Ice Corp in Hicksville.
It was discovered in September that several checks sent to Arctic Glacier, a vendor, were not received. Those checks, valued at more than $200,000 were deposited by Miller in a Citizen Bank branch in Newburgh.
Police said he was able to deposit the checks after falsifying business records.
Miller was arrested without incident at his home with assistance of Newburgh City Police.
