NEWBURGH – Democratic Congressman Sean Patrick Maloney (D, NY18) doesn’t like what he is hearing on the presidential campaign trail.
While the Democratic candidates seem to be somewhat more civil to one another, heated words are often exchanged among Republicans with Donald Trump throwing barbs on a daily basis.
Maloney said shouting is not the answer.
“I think what you are hearing on the presidential trail is wrong and it drives people apart and we just aren’t going to build a better country through anger and through division. We have to come together,” he said. “We have to stop shouting and start listening. I hope that’s the path we will choose because that is the path forward. It is the way we have always progressed as a country.”
Maloney is up for reelection this fall, although he has not made any formal announcement about that yet.  Several Republicans have announced they will run.
