Convenience store held up in Monticello

MONTICELLO – Police on Monticello are investigating a strong arm
robbery that occurred minutes after 6 p.m. on Saturday, January 16 at
the Monticello CITGO Mart convenience store. The incident took place at
5:05 p.m. at 41 Forestburgh Road.

The robber walked into the store, grabbed the clerk and demanded money.
He then took cash from the register and from the clerk’s wallet.

The man was described as large build, about six feet, two inches tall
and weighing about 275 pounds. He was wearing gray sweatpants, a gray
hooded sweatshirt with “Carolina” in red letters and a red
and white mask covering his face.

He fled the store in an unknown direction.

Anyone with information about the incident is asked to all Monticello
Police in Confidence at 845-794-4422.

Monticello Police were assisted by State Police and the Sullivan County
Sheriff’s Office.
