TOWN OF WALLKILL – Hundreds of fellow firefighters will converge on the Town of Wallkill this afternoon (Thursday) and tomorrow (Friday) for the wake and funeral for Justin Speights, the 20-year-old Silver Lake firefighter, who was stabbed to death as he attempted to break up a fight during a New Year’s morning party in the Town of Crawford.
Visitation today is being held from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. and 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. with firematic services at 7:30 p.m. at Transformation Church, 160 Blumel Road in Wallkill.
A celebration of Speights’ life will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday at the church with burial to follow at Wallkill Cemetery.
Justin joined the fire department at age 16 and served for four years.
The investigation into who killed Speights is continuing as police track down every lead possible. An estimated 100 people were at the private house party with police believing someone will come forward with information about the killer.
