GOSHEN – The cost of rebuilding the Orange County Government Center in Goshen totals $52.2 million.
The apparent low bidder for general contractor is Rizzo Electric, at
$35.26 million. HVAC/mechanical low bidder is Armistead at $7.3 million.
Lombardo, at just under $3.3 million, is the plumbing low bidder, and
Mehl, at just under $5.4 million, is the apparent low bidder for electrical.
County Executive Steven Neuhaus expects the project to move forward shortly.
“We hope to be awarding the bids by early February and have construction start and then have an 18-month construction period that would take us to the end of ’17,” he said.
In the end, Neuhaus said the county will save money because it is paying rent on private buildings with county offices spread out all over the place.
