Cause of fatal Arlington fire identified

Space heater blamed for fatal fire here

ARLINGTON – The cause of the December 29 fire at a house a 31 Durocher
Terrace in the Town of Poughkeepsie has been determined to be the failure
of a natural gas fueled space heater, according to Arlington Fire Chief
Tory Gallante.  The fire caused significant damage to a portion of
the residence.
Killed in the blaze was 75-year-old Stanislaw Soltysiak, whose body was
found inside the building.
The investigation by the Arlington Fire District Fire Investigation Division and Poughkeepsie Town Police is continuing.
