Two arrested for bank robberies in Newburgh, Hyde Park

NEWBURGH – Two Town of Wappinger residents were arrested in connection with a pair of bank robberies, one on each side of the Hudson River.
Newburgh City Police said Joshua Dejesus, 24, was charged with felony robbery in connection with the robbery of the Hudson Heritage Federal Credit Union on Corwin Court on August 24.
Victoria Sanchez, 24, was arrested and charged with robbery in connection with a robbery at the TD Bank branch in Hyde Park on June 5. Sanchez was a teller there.
The investigations are continuing. Police did not say if the two suspects knew each other or worked in concert to commit the crimes.
Anyone with information is asked to call Newburgh City Police or their respective police agency.
The investigation included City of Newburgh Police, Orange and Dutchess County District Attorney’s Offices, town police in Hyde Park, Fishkill, Poughkeepsie Police, New York State Bridge Authority, Sullivan County Probation, the FBI and Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosive.
