HOPEWELL JUNCTION – Three people are in custody following an attempted
burglary of a residence on Augusta Drive in Hopewell Junction Sunday night.
Arrested were Gregory Longworth, 24; Marques Lipscomb, 30; and Alexandra
Sottile, 22, all of Wappingers Falls. They were all arraigned and remanded
to the Dutchess County Jail in lieu of $300,000 cash bail or $600,000
bond each.
The victims returned home to find two masked people in their home. A struggle
ensued and the residents were injured. A 25-year-old male victim was stabbed
in the face and two women, ages 21 and 22, suffered head injuries from
blows to their heads.
The victims were taken by ambulance to a Poughkeepsie hospital.
East Fishkill Police along with State Police and the Dutchess County Sheriff’s
Office investigated and within an hour, a sheriff’s patrol located
a suspect vehicle in Arthursburgh and took three suspects into custody.
East Fishkill Police Chief Kevin Keefe said there was no reason to believe
any other suspects were at large or that the community was in any danger.
