MONSEY – Ramapo Town Police have issued 96 tickets this year for passing stopped school buses.
In the latest incident on Thursday, December 17, an 11-year-old girl sustained minor injuries and police ticketed the 47-year-old driver, a Spring Valley woman, for failure to stop for a stopped school bus.
The accident occurred on Route 306 in Monsey as the girl was getting off her school bus and was crossing the road. Police said the stop sign and red lights were activated by the school bus driver at the time of the accident.
