GOSHEN – Orange County Executive Steven Neuhaus signed the county’s $725 million budget for 2016.
The budget cuts spending by $7.5 million from this year’s, falls under the state tax cap and maintains all essential services.
Neuhaus said it also continues funding for non-government services that are important to the community.
“It also continues to reach out to those other areas in government that need our help; those including keeping Safe Homes, keeping the funding to the rape crisis center. These are all very important programs that support a very unique part of our community that we need to not turn our back on.”
Neuhaus’ budget contains other new funding including an additional $1 million to promote tourism in the county.
