TOWN OF NEWBURGH – A portion of Route 52 in the Town of Newburgh was shut down overnight following an accident involving a dump truck with a raised dump body.
Police Chief Michael Clancy said the truck pulled down numerous power lines across the road and a number of utility poles were downed or heavily damaged.
Some power outages were reported in business and residential areas near the scene.
There were no known reports of injuries Tuesday evening.
The road was expected to be closed for an extended period of time while Central Hudson crews work to clear up the damage and restore power.
