Three arrested in Newburgh on gun, drug charges

NEWBURGH – Three men were
arrested by Newburgh City Police on Tuesday after they were observed parked
in a known drug location at First Street and Carpenter Avenue.

As officers approached the vehicle, the front seat passenger, identified
as Dequan Hudson, 19, tried to get out. He was detained.

Officers found pieces of crack cocaine and the gun lying on the floor
of the car.

Hudson and two other men, back seat passenger Rainier Hamilton, 20, and
Kirk Phillips, 52, the driver, were all arrested without incident.

All three were charged with felony criminal possession of a weapon and
misdemeanor drug possession.

Hudson and Hamilton live in the City of Newburgh while Phillips lives
in the Town of Newburgh.
